2017 National president’s MESSAGE

“Kindness in words creates confidence.  Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.  Kindness in giving creates love.” – Lao Tzu
Season’s Greeting!  As we approach the end of the year, I’d like to thank you all for a wonderful year and reflect on our resilient communities.

We’ve seen the devastation from the powerful hurricanes that engulfed cities in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico.  Many are still struggling to get back to their normal life, but your acts of kindness instills hope and love.  InspirASIAN National donated $1,000 to each of our Houston and Florida Chapters to help rebuild families in the aftermath.  Now thousands of California firefighters continue to battle the wildfires blazing across acres larger than New York City and Boston combined and is on its course to become the largest wildfire in the state’s modern history.  We will keep those affected in our prayers.

We’d also like to pay tribute to the late San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee to his lifelong dedication to public service and for his achievements in a wide range of public policies that positively impacted countless lives in the City and beyond.  He was the first Asian American mayor of a major city in this country and a true champion.  To those of us in the Asian American community, he was “Our Mayor,” someone who understood the needs and aspirations of our diverse communities.

During this holiday season, we honor our heroes and celebrate the memories with our friends and family.  I’m grateful to all of you for your kindness in giving through your volunteerism and pledge to our Employee Giving Campaign.

I wish you and your family a safe and peaceful holiday.
